Advocate for Medicine & Attend Alliance Winter Board Meeting

Be a presence for your physician spouse in the Missouri legislature by attending the MSMA’s Alliance Advocates for Health Care Day at the Legislature on Feb. 21-22, 2012.
Alliance members will visit with lawmakers in the Missouri Capitol on Tuesday, February 21. We encourage you to please contact your legislators in advance so you can arrange to talk with them personally. For contact information, go to www.msma.org/legislativetools.
We will meet at the Baymont Inn (formerly Hotel DeVille) at 11:00 a.m. to receive instructions. Then, after a catered lunch, our group will carpool to the Capitol to talk with state legislators. Also, a tour of the Capitol building will be available to anyone who is interested.
David Barbe, MD, AMA Board of Trustees Secretary, will join us for dinner at the Jefferson City Country Club. He will update us on federal bills concerning medicine, and Congress’ recent actions regarding the Medicare Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) and how it will affect patients and physicians. A question-and-answer session will follow.
The Winter Board meeting will be held Wednesday, February 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the hotel. Registration deadlines are February 1.
