Join the MSMA Alliance
"Where the River Turns a Thousand Tales"
DIRECTIONS WILL BE EMAILED UPON REGISTRATION
Nestled along the banks of the mighty Mississippi River, you’ll find Cape Girardeau, rich in history and hospitality, truly a community "Where the River Turns a Thousand Tales." We’re sure that after your visit, you’ll not only have many wonderful memories, but also your own tales to tell.
In addition to the regularly scheduled board meeting, we will have two excellent speakers on both timely and informative topics. Linda Wiggins, a local Alliance member, is passionate about disaster preparedness. With Missouri being susceptible to thunderstorms, tornadoes, and ice storms, as well as earthquakes, we should all be vigilant in our own level of readiness. Linda will show us what we should all be doing now to make ourselves as prepared as possible. She has attended numerous meetings and training sessions, and is a wealth of information for our organization.
Our second speaker is another local Alliance member, Gwen Bennett, whose passion is organization. With your busy family lives as well as your commitment to your own medical Alliance and other affiliations, we’re sure you could always use more tips to organize your life.Gwen is an accomplished speaker, and her presentation is always very well received.
We will also be heading to historic downtown Cape’s shopping district. There are several antique and specialty shops in the area. We are organizing a shopping "passbook" for special savings. Enjoy visiting our variety of stores and get your passbook signed at each one to be entered into a drawing for a prize. Or, just rest and enjoy some time with friends at one of the local coffee shops.
You’ll fall in love with the special dining experiences we have planned for you. Meals for the conference’s first day will be provided by Celebrations By Request. Celebrations is a fine dining restaurant and catering service whose menus are inspired by fresh seasonal products that are flown in from all parts of the country, as well as local growers. The cuisine is a blend of European technique and Midwestern flavors. The food never fails to amaze! On the second day we will be experiencing My Daddy’s Cheesecake. Since 1987, My Daddy’s Cheesecake has baked award-winning, decadent cheesecake and bakery items. Along with delicious breakfast items, soups, salads and sandwiches, My Daddy’s menu offerings are all made by hand from only the finest ingredients.
Our conference hotel is the Holiday Inn Express, just right off of Hwy 1-55. Rooms are $114 a night, and reservations must be made by Sept. 26, after which rates and availability cannot be guaranteed.
Come visit us. Cape Girardeau will capture your imagination. With a variety of attractions and activities, your time spent here with the MSMA Alliance will be remembered for years to come.
