Missouri HIT Assistance Center
The University of Missouri has been recognized by CMS as Missouri’s Regional Center. They will provide assistance for at least 1,200 primary care physicians to evaluate, select, purchase, install, and operate an EHR in compliance with "Meaningful Use." The Center is a partnership between the MU’s School of Medicine, the Missouri Telehealth Network, the Missouri Primary Care Association, Missouri Hospital Association, Primaris, and the Kansas City Quality Improvement Consortium.
Health Information Exchange
The state of Missouri has been meeting with partners since December preparing for the creation of an HIE. A new private 501c3 not-for-profit corporation will soon be created to operate as Missouri’s HIE. This HIE will receive federal stimulus funds in addition to being responsible for creating a self-sustaining business operation.
