Medicare Advantage Terminations:
What Can You Do?
MSMA and MHA Appeal to CMS on UnitedHealthcare Terminations
In the wake of ongoing physician terminations from UnitedHealthcare’s Medicare Advantage network in Missouri, MSMA and the Missouri Hospital Association recently joined forces and sent a letter of concern to the CMS Regional Administrator.
The letter warns that United’s effort to narrow its MA network will disrupt physician-patient relationships and limit access to care, especially in underserved areas. The two associations are calling on CMS to take whatever steps are necessary to mitigate the negative impact on the state’s disabled and elderly citizens.
If you or any physician colleagues are victims of United’s downsizing, you are encouraged to avail yourself of the guidelines MSMA has developed to help deal with the situation.
