MIPS 2019: Are You Ready?

Join Jonathan Smith, MPH, Regional Director at SHINE of Missouri for a walk through of the MIPS program and an opportunity to learn more how participating in SHINE of Missouri can help physicians succeed in MIPS. SHINE of Missouri is a physician-led health information network delivered in partnership with the Missouri State Medical Association offering a suite of secure and affordable health information technology tools that deliver interoperability to physicians across the nation.

About Jonathan Smith, MPH
Jonathan Smith, MPH is the Regional Manager for the Show-Me Health Information Network (SHINE) of Missouri. SHINE of Missouri is a physician-led health information exchange developed by KAMMCO in collaboration with the Missouri State Medical Association, and is uniquely positioned to help physicians, other health care providers, integrated delivery networks, accountable care organizations, and others seeking to improve patient outcomes and adapt to new performance-based payment models through the use of data analytics and business intelligence tools. Both SHINE of Missouri and KAMMCO are provider-led and governed.

Jonathan obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI, and a Master’s in Public Health from Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH. While attending Western Michigan University, Jonathan worked at Kalamazoo Family Health Center, where he ran the information technology department and led the conversion from paper to electronic health records. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree, Jonathan relocated to rural Kansas and served as the Chief Information Officer at Genesis Family Health where he led another electronic health record conversion. In 2015, Jonathan joined the KAMMCO family of companies. His previous role within the KAMMCO family of companies involved providing free technical support related to electronic health records and value based care to clinicians throughout rural Kansas.
