Continuing Medical Education Program Guidelines and Requirements
CME Procedures The Missouri State Medical Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Missouri State Medical Association designates this live activity for a maximum of ____ AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (Total hours to be announced). Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Sessions Available for MOC Points Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 6 Maintenance of Certification (MOC) points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit. Evaluation Forms - How to Obtain CME Credit In order to receive CME credit for attending scientific sessions, participants MUST complete and return the evaluation forms passed out at each scientific session. Turn them in to the moderator of the session you attended. To earn MOC points, the participant must attend the MOC-designated activity and complete evaluation component with a passing score. MSMA members earn their CME for free and/or any MOC points associated with the activity. Nonmembers of MSMA will be charged $50 per CME credit hour and must pay for the AMA PRA Category 1 credit to receive MOC points. Nonmembers will be billed for the appropriate number of CME credit hours or may choose to join MSMA during the Annual Convention to receive CME for free and any associated MOC points. After all evaluations are processed at MSMA Headquarters, you should receive your CME certificate and/or your MOC points will be uploaded in the ACCME’s PARS system in eight to ten weeks. |
