What is the Alliance? The Alliance is a national, state, and local organization that represents the family of medicine in the United States. Through its many resources and accomplishments, most members find the true benefit is participating in an organization that can speak out on the issues affecting the family of medicine in communities nationwide. The Missouri State Medical Association Alliance together with the American Medical Association Alliance and Missouri’s county Alliances form a cohesive group whose mission is to support each other and to improve the health of our communities. | Support the Family of Medicine Develop lifelong friendships and increase your circle of friends throughout the state and nation. We are a nationwide network of physicians families (spouses of physicians, fellows, residents, medical students). It is a ready-made support system for the unique challenges of life in a medical family. Make a Difference in Your Community Participate in health projects, such as supporting healthcare workers with St. Louis' "Hungry Heroes" campaign; participate in community education programs like "Stop the Bleed" program and anti-bullying campaigns; have fun and celebrate with physician families during "Physician Family Day" annual during the last weekend in August. PFD is a nationwide campaign bringing awareness to physician burnout and acknowledges physicians and their families for the vital role they play in the health care of their communities. The Alliance also raises thousands of dollars every year for the Missouri State Medical Foundation, which supports scholarships to medical students at all six schools of medicine in Missouri on eight campuses. Experience the talents and expertise of individuals with various backgrounds at the state and national meetings and learn new ideas to bring back to your communities. Be an Advocate for Health Care MSMA's annual “Physician Advocacy Day” at the Missouri legislature is an opportunity to be advocates for health care in Jefferson City. You can have a voice in the laws that affect the medical profession and the quality of life in our state and nation. Grow Personally Through Belonging Presentations, workshops, and seminars are available at the county, state and national meetings. Further your education personally and professionally, make valuable contacts, develop or enhance your leadership skills while having FUN in this unique organization. |
